Fairfield, CT – On 9/18/2025, John Kuhn, age 68, of Bridgeport, CT, turned himself at Fairfield Police Headquarters where he was arrested in connection with a series of anti-Semitic vandalism incidents that occurred throughout the month of August 2025 in the Town of Fairfield.
Over the course of August, multiple locations in Fairfield were defaced with graffiti depicting Stars of David altered with swastika-like tails. These incidents caused collectively approximately $3,000 in damages. Similar incidents were also reported in neighboring communities as well.
Through a comprehensive investigation, Fairfield Police Detectives identified Kuhn as a suspect. Following interviews, it was determined that his actions were motivated by current events between Israel and Palestine.
Kuhn was charged with the following offenses:
- Three counts of Intimidation Based on Bigotry or Bias 3rd Degree
- Criminal Mischief in the First Degree
- Three counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
He was issued a court set bond of $30,000 and was brought to court the same day.
The Fairfield Police Department strongly condemns these acts of hate and vandalism. Any display of racist, anti-Semitic, or discriminatory behavior has no place in our community. We would like to thank members of the community who promptly reported these incidents and shared surveillance footage or information to assist in the investigation. Community cooperation was instrumental in bringing this case to a successful resolution.
