“I want every member of this community, and especially every member of this Department, to understand exactly where I stand when it comes to threats made against our officers. We will not tolerate them,” said Chief Michael Paris. “Anyone who threatens the safety or lives of our officers should understand that we will use every lawful resource available to identify them, locate them, arrest them, and ensure they are held accountable through the criminal justice system.”

Chief Paris continued, “Our officers are asked every day to walk into situations that others run from and to protect complete strangers. The very least they should expect in return is that when someone deliberately threatens them or their families, those actions are taken seriously and there are meaningful consequences. I sincerely hope the outcome of this case provides some measure of closure to the officers who were directly impacted.”

The Fairfield Police Department is grateful to the FBI for its partnership and commitment throughout this investigation. The resources and expertise provided by our federal partners, along with the work of the United States Attorney’s Office, ensured these threats were thoroughly investigated and that those directly impacted by them had their concerns taken seriously.
