Fairfield Police Make Arrest in 2022 Homicide Investigation

Fairfield, CT — The Fairfield Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a 2022 shooting incident that resulted in the death of a juvenile.

On 7/9/2022, Fairfield Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shots fired incident at Calvin United Church of Christ on Kings Highway East, where a party of several hundred attendees was taking place. Responding officers immediately entered the building, located two juveniles suffering from gunshot wounds, and rendered aid. Both were transported to area hospitals, where one 15-year-old juvenile male from Stratford later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Fairfield Police Department, along with members of the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit, responded to the scene and began an extensive investigation. Over the course of the investigation, detectives of the Fairfield Police Major Crimes Unit identified a suspect who was 16-years-old at the time of the incident. Detectives subsequently developed sufficient evidence to apply for an arrest warrant, which was approved and served on 4/3/2026 at the Manson Correctional Youth Institution in Cheshire Connecticut, where he is currently being held on unrelated charges.

He was charged with:

  • Murder
  • Assault in the First Degree
  • Carrying a Pistol without a Permit

His case is currently being handled as a juvenile matter within the juvenile court with the anticipation that it will be transferred to adult court.

The Fairfield Police Department extends its condolences to the family of the juvenile who lost his life, and recognizes the impact this incident had on the juvenile who was injured. The Fairfield Police Department remained committed to this investigation from the outset and worked diligently to bring it to a resolution.

“This arrest is the result of years of persistent investigative work and a commitment to seeing this case through,” said Chief Michael Paris. “Our officers and detectives remained focused on this investigation and did not stop until we were able to bring it to a resolution. As I have said in recent statements, if you commit a crime in Fairfield, we will find you, and you will be arrested. This commitment, along with that of our law enforcement partners is to bring justice to the victims and our community.”

We would also like to thank the Connecticut State Police, the Bridgeport Police Department Auto Theft Task Force, the Stratford Police Department, and the State’s Attorney’s Office for their assistance and collaboration throughout this investigation. This case is a testament to the strong partnerships and coordinated efforts between agencies working together to bring complex investigations to a resolution.
