Currently seeking qualified candidates for the part time position of Animal Control Officer.
Pay: $20.24 per hour
HOURS (subject to change):
1st Position:
5pm-9pm Mon-Thurs
5pm-8:30pm Fri
2nd Position:
9am-5pm Weekends
Job Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a comprehensive background check.
- Should possess excellent communication skills and have experience handling animals.
- Must successfully complete the Municipal Animal Control Officer training program developed by the Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture in accordance with CGS 22-328 as well as any additional training required by the State or Department.
- Basic computer knowledge/skills are necessary for report writing and various Animal Control programs.
- Must be able to pick up and move 50 pounds or possibly more during emergencies.
- Must be able to work independently and be able to respond to after hours emergency call-outs in a timely manner.
- Successfully complete continuing education annually to maintain certification.
