Captain Michael Paris began his career with the Town of Fairfield in 2001 as an Emergency Telecommunicator at the age of 18. Motivated by a lifelong passion for law enforcement, he joined the Fairfield Police Department as a Police Officer in 2006.
During his time as a patrol officer, Captain Paris served as a Field Training Officer and was a dedicated member of the Department's Honor Guard. In 2010, he joined the Connecticut State Police’s Urban Violence Task Force, where he worked undercover to address violent street gangs. He expanded his service in 2012 by becoming a Special Deputy Federal Agent and U.S. Marshal with the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force, earning the United States Attorney Award for his contributions to combating organized crime.
In 2016, Captain Paris was promoted to Sergeant, overseeing key units such as Traffic Enforcement, Crash Investigation, and the Marine Unit. He also led the Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team and served as President of the Fairfield Police Union.
Promoted to Lieutenant in 2021, Captain Paris took charge of the Special Services Division, managing specialized units and spearheading initiatives focused on traffic safety and community engagement. He was the commander of the crash investigation unit, taking great pride in the accomplishments of his team.
Beyond his police work, Captain Paris is an active member of the community, having served as the past President of the Parish Council at Saint Nicholas Church in Bridgeport. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at Sacred Heart University, with an expected graduation in 2025.
