Captain Granata, is a US Armed Forces Veteran, and a seasoned professional with a passion for community and public safety. A proud graduate of Sacred Heart University, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, setting the foundation for his successful career. Captain Granata additionally holds a Graduate Certificate in Public Safety from the University of Virginia and is currently pursuing a Master Degree in Public Safety from UVA.
In 2000, Captain Granata embarked on his law enforcement journey with the Fairfield Police Department. Over the years, he has seamlessly transitioned through various roles, showcasing his versatility and dedication to service. His extensive experience includes serving as a Patrol Officer, SWAT Operator, FBI Task Force Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Technical Services Lieutenant and Public Information Officer, and now, Captain.
A distinguished alumnus of the FBI National Academy's 283rd Session in Quantico, Virginia, Captain Granata stands is a leader in the field. Currently overseeing the Administrative Services Bureau, he oversees critical department functions, projects and personnel. His responsibilities encompass the Professional Standards Division, Technical Services Division, Internal Affairs Unit, Training Unit, Records Unit, and the Public Affairs Office.
Captain Granata's leadership and commitment to the community make him an invaluable asset to the Town of Fairfield. His journey from a dedicated patrol officer to the Commander of the Administrative Services Bureau is a testament to his exceptional skills, tireless work ethic, and unyielding dedication to public service.
